Castle View at the Viking Reviews

Very well situated apartment. Very central location.
Stayed many times at Seahouses but the first time at CastleView . Avery spacious accommodation in a location central to all the local amenities and easy reach of many beauty spots. The view from the apartment over lookiingthe Harbour and the sea was very relaxing. The apartment it's self was ideal well equipped warm and cosy and I will be using the facilities again. Marie
This was our second time at Castle View and it did not disappoint. House was ideally placed for us to visit around Northumberland. Even managed a jaunt to Newcastle using the Park and Ride. Plenty of places to eat out including the hotel next door. Very good value.

Even on a windy winter's day it's lovely to sit in the warm and watch the waves crashing on the beach. And its very handy for the harbour, shops, restaurants & EV chargers.
Probably the best Sykes Cottage we've ever stayed in. Very comfortable, everything you could ask for and in a superb location. My only real grumble was with the double bed upstairs that felt very small, with a duvet and bottom sheet that barely fitted. There was a request to recycle as much waste as possible but none of the bins in the courtyard were labelled and all of them contained a complete mixture of landfill, cardboard, glass and garden waste treehedge cuttings the latter of which clearly wasn't from any of the guests, yet was present in every bin. We ended up recycling the bottles in the car park bottlebank as requested but picked a random bin for our cardboard and plastic waste. Despite those minor quibbles, we'd definitely stay there again.

Castleview was a very comfortable clean and homely accommodation. A lot of care had gone into decor and there was everything you needed even down to starter and cleaning packs. Beautiful views and very central location. There were four of us in our 70's and we all had a very enjoyable few days. We hope to be able to return some time.
The apartment was extremely comfortable and spacious, with all the facilities needed for a relaxing holiday. Everything was clean and bright, and even though it is next to the road, we were not bothered by noise at night. Overall, a lovely place to stay, near all the amenities.
Wonderful accomodation, nice little touches to make you feel at home
Our third stay at Castle View. I think that says it all! Clean, spacious, well equipped and private off road parking. Ideal base to explore Northumberland. Less than 3 mins walk from all Seahouses pubs, shops and restaurants. Right on the harbour and an easy walk to the beach.
The Castle View apartment Seahouses was absolutely stunning and an excellent location to explore other areas. The property was clean and well maintained. We had a very relaxing stay and will most definitely book again as we visit the area on a regular basis. We would have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever recommending both Northumbria Cottages and the property itself. Thank you for a much needed, relaxing stay.
The apartment was excellent. Clean, well presented and welcoming. Great location good chippy almost next door. Lovely view from the lounge balcony. Everything in the apartment you could need, a real home from home. There were just the two of us, but plenty of room for four. The welcome pack of teacoffeemilk sachets and biscuits was lovely touch. Picking updropping off the keys was straightforward and the information folder had all the relevant information. All excellent and will definitely book again. Highly recommended.

The property was well situated, well equipped, clean and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in staying here again.
Michael
Beautifully appointed purpose built flat. Very tastefully furnished and maintained to a high standard with lovely pictures on the wall art. Spacious, light and airy Great location above the harbour and near the bottom of the maim street with long views that include both Bamburgh and Lindesfarne Castle
We had an enjoyable stay at the Viking . An instruction book for the induction cooker would have been very useful as we had to guess how to use it.There was a very weak internet connection.
Michelle
Overall the inside of the property was to a good standard and great location however was let down by the unusable balconies one due to proximity of bins causing flies and smell along with old bird droppings and the upstairs balcony being covered in old bird droppings on handrails, floor and chair. The upstairs lights also did not work and the garage was too small to be of any use.
Robert
Our second stay and we are not disappointed. Great position for watching sunsets. Close to all amenities and great boat trips. The WiFi could do with a boost. It is a pity that the large public waste bins are placed close to the balcony causing smells and attracting flocks of noisy seagulls.
Claire
Lovely clean apartment. Very central. Nice welcome and cleaning pack and thanks for providing a couple of toilet rolls and soap. Parking space a bonus, think it would be a squeeze to fit a car in the garage. We avoided the towel rack in the downstairs bathroom as the rust marked the towels. Double bed pillows very thin not used to sleeping flat and mattress springy so if one person moved so did the other! Main balcony is just behind 3 large public rubbish bins that were full to overflowing at the each of each day, but is nice to stand on looking out at the sea first thing in a morning when not so busy. Excellent location for exploring the local area.
We stayed at Castle View last year and loved it. When we saw the apartment was available on the dates we wanted for this year, we didn't hesitate to book it again for a second stay. Large, clean apartment in an excellent location. Views of the sea and Bamburgh Castle, off street parking and less than 5 mins walk from all the pubsrestaurants and shops in Seahouses. Easy access to the harbour and beach for an amazing walk up to Bamburgh and back. Great base to explore the rest of the area too less than 10 miles to Alnwick, Dunstanburgh and not much further to Holy Island.
Christine
Lovely, comfortable, well equipped property which is close to the shops, restaurants and harbour. Sea view rather spoilt by car park and the balcony overlooking the sea has the view blocked, presumably for privacy reasons. Cleanliness was ok and beds were comfortable, however shower floor looked a bit grubby and shower head holder was really rusty. Despite the little niggles, a very nice place to stay.
Gabrielle
The property does require a really good clean, the towel rails are extremely grubby. The mattress on the double bed hasnt been replaced so we used the single beds which are comfortable. The blinds need replacing in the upstairs bathroom and cleaning elsewhere. We bought a bathroom air freshener to cover the horrible smell in the downstairs bathroom. It was very cold when we arrived as all the heating was off and it took several hours to warm up. The facilities in the kitchen are fine and the settee is comfortable and the location is great, but we wont be staying there again.
Graham
1 We were told that the gates of the complex would be closed and locked, neither was applicable. 2 Cleanliness the oven had not been cleaned and when opened smelled of old fat, and we didnt feel that it was usable. 3 The black cupsmugs on the rack which we understand are on display were thick with dust, hadnt been cleaned. 4 Venetian blinds in the downstairs bathroom were thick with dust and mould. On saying all of the above, the apartment was well decorated and comfortable. The big plus was the location, being close to all amenities, the view of Bamburgh Castle and the seafront.
This apartment was the best my wife and I have stayed in. The apartment was the best equipped we have been in.The town is busy and the apartment is close to shops and restaurants and a car park But we were not disturbed by noise. Great view of Bamburgh castle from lounge window, along with St Aidans beach. Plenty of places to visit using Seahouses as a base.
Charlotte
We had a lovely time. The apartment was everything we needed central and convenient, comfortable and inviting. Despite rather mixed weather, we had a lovely holiday, and even managed to sit and enjoy people watching from the balcony a couple of times. Thank you. X
Lovely apartment, very handy for main shops, beautiful views, everything you need home from home . Go back again .
We have been twice at the Castle View its perfect for myself my wife and father in law. We were lucky with the weather, we had a most enjoyable stay Thank you The Stanley family
Barbara
The apartment was beautiful, clean, bright, very spacious and fresh. Everything you could possibly need was supplied. The refreshment and mini cleaning pack on day of arrival was welcome and helpful. We enjoyed the view out to sea, or up to Banburgh Castle, from the balcony, every day. The beds were comfy, providing a restful sleep. Fabulous place to stay, shops, restaurants and beach all within 2 to 10 minutes walk. Lots of lovely places to visit. We would definitely stay here again.
We have had a lovely week in your very spacious and comfortable apartment everything we needed was provided. We found the welcome packs a nice touch too. Loved being able to see the sea every morning from the window.
Fantastic clean apartment in the most central situation. The balcony from the lounge was a good place to read or just people watch, the privacy screen was a must & made all the difference. Hubby loved the radio in the lounge. Would stay again.
Lovely apartment for a relaxing week. conveniently located with all shops on the door step and a perfect place to sit and watch the world go by when the weather wasn&39t to kind.
Large enough living space for 4 people, a light filled living space with a good view out to the castle. Nice balcony areas big enough to sit and watch the sunsets. Plenty of wardrobe space in all the rooms, good entrance area to take off wet coats and shoes.
