The Little Boathouse Reviews

Ulrich
A small well set out property very close to sea and harbour. this was our second visit, we will be back.
Joanne
Lovely little cottage, just perfect for our needs! Very well equipped and more than adequate for 2 people. The only downside was the basin in the bathroom which is virtually unusable. The small size of the basin would be manageable if there were not a sharp shelf directly above it. This could definitely do with addressing. Shelves above beds also have very sharp corners as well discovered! Despite this we would definitely book again.
SUPPOSEDLY SMALL IN SIZE THE COTTAGE PROVIDES EVERYTHING A COUPLE COULD NEED FOR A HOLIDAY. THE BATHROOM IS A GOOD SIZE, THE LIVINGDININGKITCHEN AREA IS EASILY SPACIOUS ENOUGH, THE BEDROOM IS PERFECTLY ADEQUATE HOW MUCH ROOM DO YOU NEED TO SLEEP. THE ENTRANCE HAA IS SPACIOUS & USING IT AS A WARDROBESTORAGE AREA IS A GOOD USE OF THE SPACE. COTTAGE HAD ALL THE FACILITIES WE NEEDED. PLENTY OF ROOM FOR FOOD PREPARATION, A NEAT DINING TABLE & VERY COMFORTABLE AT THE END OF A LONG DAY. THE BEST PART OF THE COTTAGE HOWEVER, IS IT'S LOCATION RIGHT IN THE HEART OF SEAHOUSES. AS HAS BEEN SIAD BEFORE A TRUE LITTLE GEM.
We have been staying at The Little Boathouse for a number of years now. It is cosy and comfortable and is a great location. Parking is an issue and seems to be getting worse. It's that bad now that we're thinking of a different location next year. We were also puzzled by being asked for a 250 bond towards breakages?
Wash basin ridiculously small in bathroom and impossible to wash face. Continuous noise above and stairway. No parking, we were lucky being out of main season found a street fairly close by. Area is very handy for harbour, main street, restaurants
Maureen
Perfect little base for a couple who want to explore Northumberland or go walking. It is compact but not too much so. It is cosy and well thought out and we found it very comfortable. It has no view but you step out the door, turn the corner and youre on the harbour and have the most amazing views! My husband spent a lot of time on the seats there enjoying the view, the sounds and atmosphere. I wish I could include photos! In a previous a previous review someone complained about upstairs noise. It is a flat so youre bound to hear moving about upstairs. The ONLY noise we heard was a toddler run across the floor. Thats what toddlers do. It was in no way excessive, disruptive or disturbing. Another complained about the size, described the bedroom as a cupboard with beds in. Rubbish! It is compact but not too small and the beds are very comfortable. Everything is clearly set out by the holiday company on line. I cannot recommend it enough. If you want more, pay for more. You wont get a better bargain!
Disappointing, taught us to read description and study pictures carefully first. VERY small, Bedroom is an alcove behind a curtain. Shower has black mould and needed cleaning, hand basin is minute with a shelf above so you can't use it properly. No upright chairs only stools so no 'romantic dining'. No cleaning products except small amount of wup liquid. Clothes rail in hallway as a wardrobe. No cheating, fan heaters and convector only. Not comfortable at all for elderly people. A bit too basic for us, but the location was ideal. Towels were nice and the bed comfortable so not all bad news.
Lovely cottage in a great location. Unfortunately for some reason we did not receive a bottle of wine, snacks or tea in the welcome pack. Contacted Sykes who questioned if it was advertised as being included. Bit strange as its on their website. Confirmed it was but never got a reply even after a reminder message on the app. Also didnt realise that there was a cottage above ours and unfortunately the noise from upstairs was horrendous. We did enjoy the break and would stay again
Ulrich
A well located cottage in close proximity to pubrestaurants and essential shops. only snag was car parking, available on street around next street. we will be back many thanks. Ulrich and Marion
The little boat house was comfortable and cosy and had every amenity. We loved the welcome basket of wine and snacks! Thank you. Thank you for helping us find parking too. We were glad to be able to leave the car most days and explore by bus and foot.
A really lovely little holiday house in a prime location. Only one little criticism, the noise from people staying upstairs really carried through the ceiling as they walked around or ran if small children!
We have stayed in The Little Boathouse many times now and come back year after year. It is the perfect property for us, cosy and comfortable, with the perfect location. We look forward to coming back again next year!
Nice little cottage tucked away just a short stroll down to the harbour, it had ... Nice little cottage tucked away just a short stroll down to the harbour, it had just about everything you needed to make a comfortable stay
Absolutely amazing great people very reliable and work with you to make sure you have a great stay we had a queire with hot water and had someone out next day couldn't say enough kind words about the place and our experience but would definitely recommend people to stay their me and my girlfriend had such a great time and are already wanting to go back . Thank you for our perfect stay hope.to be back as soon as possible
It was on the small side but cosy. Beds were comfortable cooking facilities very good. Shower on the small side. Some of the reviews we read about the property was a bit over the top.

The Little Boathouse is quaint charming and quirky. Overall it has everything you need. However, despite enquiring previous to our visit and being told it would be taken care of, my wife ended up with a bad back due to the state of the mattress. We reported the washing machine as not working and it still wasn't when we left. I don't know how long it had been that way but there was old soap powder in the drawer! Storage space is a problem if you like to do a weekly shop or take a lot of clothes that need hanging and parking is not an easy task not helped by nearby construction work, which might be a temporary thing. It's a shame really because it is a nice property, in a very good location and overall we enjoyed our stay. The bed mattress was the worst thing and perhaps some further suggestions info on parking arrangements would help.I was asked not to park in a couple of areas. Don't really know why as I would find other cars parked in where I had moved from and it wasn't marked up for resident parking only!
Judith
Definitely bijou, but very clean. Personally for me I felt it was a little dark but there was plenty of lighting. Perfect position for the town of Seahouses. Access to both Prime and netflix was a bonus.
Michael
We had a lovely week at this very compact little cottage. It is on the ground floor and other people occupy upstairs. There is everything you could need for a couple.Pots pans dishes glasses microwave cooker, full size cooker, fridge freezer tea towels shower towels and a washer and dryer inside the garage entrance from hallway of cottage An iron and board. Please note this garage is for the upstairs occupiers to put their car, you cannot park outside the property but can park about 100 yards away with no problem. Complimentary wine ,biscuits and pint of milk was a very nice welcome touch. We don't drink so did bring the wine home for a family member! There is WiFi connection so come evening we had no problem watching our Netflix etc. Lovely fresh cotton bedding plus extra blankets. On the owners to do list I would have to suggest maybe the mattresses need replacing though as you could feel the springs sticking in you.Luckily it was hot all week so from our second night we slept on top of the duvet. A clothing rail is provided in the hallway which we made full use of. A fan would have been appreciated. A new iron as that one leaked the water straight out.A decent ironing board cover. The windows need cleaning between rentals. I did place the ironing board against the front door each evening as it has about 9 small glass panels and only a turn to lock inside which I didn't feel was secure enough.I just thought if anyone should try and get in then the ironing board would crash down and make us aware. I am sure any noise complaints about upstairs occupiers are uncalled for as they must be able to hear people in the cottage as well. The cottage is only a few steps to the harbour with seating areas which was lovely. The area is pretty and peaceful. You are a short walk to the supermarket.Plenty of pubs if you drink. I have no complaints about the cottage, it is a lovely place to stay and anything that sounds negative are only suggestions. We would stay here again in the future.
Robert
Excellent location lovely cottage with all amenities but the settee is passed its best
Nice property but not a restful stay due to the dancing herd of elephants above us. Noise until very late at night and in the middle of our sleep. Could even hear them using the toilet as the ceiling was so thin. This was contrary to misleading information in the Sykes spec that stated that the cottage was single story. Never mentioned that there was a larger accommodation above! Also the seating was poor with a couch from hell that we had to endure for 7 days. Bad backs all around. Reviews to follow. Not happy!!!
The property was small, very snug, but beautifully decorated and very well equipped. My wife and I wouldn&39t hesitate to stay there again.
Quaint cosy accommodation in a lovely location next to the harbour perfect as a base for exploring the area.
A lovely cosy little cottage with a lovely welcome pack. We were really happy staying here.
Cosy, cute and very well situated for exploring this part of the coast.
A very good property which was wonderfully situated for close convenience to the harbour and the town. The property itself is very well resourced, and certainly matched the description given.
A lovely property in an excellent location, fantastic views of the harbour less than ten metres away . The property is just right for two with enough facilities included to make of it what you want. Ideal for relaxing in the evening with a very friendly local around the corner all in all an excellent location.
