Anchor Lodge Reviews

Perfect ! Top class ! The location is quiet! Cant fault it !
We recently had the pleasure of staying in this lovely holiday let and couldn't have asked for a more comfortable and welcoming experience. From the moment we arrived, the place felt like a home away from home beautifully clean, thoughtfully presented, and full of little touches that made our stay so enjoyable, our dogs also felt welcome with the thoughtful box of towels, bowls and toys. A special thank you to Clare, who made everything feel so warm and inviting. Its clear how much care and attention she puts into making guests feel welcome it really made a difference and set the tone for a relaxing break. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and charming getaway. Thank you again, Clare

Put simply, this is one of the best holiday cottages to stay in. Warm, comfortable, spacious and extremely well placed to walk into Seahouses village, harbour and the clifftop walk leading to Bamburgh Castle.
Anchor Lodge is in an ideal location. It is very well equipped and very clean and comfortable. We had a problem with one of the windows, but this was sorted out very quickly and efficiently after one phone call.
The property has a clothes airer that needs replacing and the carpets could do with a wash in the bedrooms. Other than that we have had a fantastic holiday and would recommend your accommodation to others.
Lovely bungalow in a great location. Clean and nicely furnished with everything you need. Great garden space for the dog, fully enclosed. Couldn't fault it, would definitely go back again.
This is place is lovely, clean, well equipped, very comfy beds, not the usual rental ones that have you missing home a couple of nights in ! everything within walking distance, shops , pubs , takeaways etc. but the street its self is very quite, and ample parking on its own drive. I would stay here again 100
Lovely accommodation, set in good location in Seahouses. The accommodation had everything we needed. Arrived to milk in the fridge and biscuits by the kettle, which was very welcome as we arrived just when the local shop had closed. Beds very comfortable and accommodation clean. Nice garden area to sit in with cup of tea to hand, while waiting for everyone to get ready for walk along beautiful beach. Brilliant Holiday.
Richard
Our second stay at this brilliant holiday home, everything you need and more. Top class
Claire
We had a fantastic family stay! Plenty of space for six adults and two dogs. Well equipped and great location. Had a slight problem with the WiFi when we arrived which wasnt a major problem but I reported it and it was fixed that eveningvery impressive on a Friday night! Would definitely recommend Anchor Lodge.
2nd time we stayed in Anchor Lodge & again it was super! Had everything we needed for a great weekend walking the Northumberland coast.
Seahouses is a great place to visit, especially out of season if you have dogs as we do, for quiet beach walks. It also has all the required amenities, with everything within easy reach of the cottage. The enclosed rear garden is perfect for the dogs to have a wander about in. On site parking is a big bonus. The cottage is warm, clean and comfortable, and catered for our every need. Both ourselves and the dogs loved the cottage and the area.
This bungalow was just perfect. Excellent facilities. Great location very quiet. 3 min walk to centre. will definatley book again. PS Love the boat pic in the living room would love to know where you got it from Wife said she would like to live here full time.
Beverley
Stayed here lots of times, home from home and very convenient to what you need
Lovely property in a quiet street. Very helpful owner.
Lovely bungalow, absolutely fabulous spot for a peace and quiet holiday. Its not far to walk into Seahouses from the bungalow. Anchor Lodge provides a clean and comfortable holiday home with everything you will need for a lovely holiday.
Angela
We loved the cottage. . including our dog
Well presented , and comfortable, but just a few little snags. Cooker hood filter smelt really bad and obviously overdue for replacement. Heated Towel rail in ensuite did not work and also extractor fan in Family Bathroom. Everything else was top notch and we enjoyed staying there. Thinking of a Family holiday there with next door combined for a party of 12.
Angela
We had a wonderful holiday, Seahouses was a perfect location as a base to explore the area. We really liked the cottage, comfortable, spacious and with 3 boys aged 14, 13 & 11 we felt completely at home! A couple of feedback points to share The fantastic detailed welcome information booklet, which was so useful, stated we were entitled to a 10 Farne island boat trip voucher other local discounts. Upon calling in at the office, we were told these were not available peak season, so we received no discounts. Also unfortunately my mother age 76 got multiple presumed flea bites from the ensuite back bedroom. We dont own a dog so this must have come from previous occupants. Also we could find no spare bin bags so had to use our own. The cottage appeared clean & tidy on arrival but probably needs an extra deep clean after dog owners stay. Aside from the above, we had a fantastic week.
The accommodation was excellent there was everything we needed there. It is in a great position And very quiet. I would definitely recommend this property. Thank you
We had a great time in Seahouses using this house and its neighbour as a base for a two family holiday. The kitchen and lounge are both good sizes and allow visitors both to share activities and, if necessary, to spread out. Further, the kitchen is wellequipped and met all our needs you don't find this in every cottage. The bedrooms were comfortable and flexible for different age groups. Off road parking at the front is ample for two cars three at a squeeze. The only thing we missed from other houses was a hose in the garden to clean sand off beach items.
Ingeborg
Lovely stay. Really enjoyed the holiday and Anchor Lodge was perfect. Clean. Loved the welcome pack with biscuits!
Michael
The property was presented in excellent condition, set in a great location, just a short walk to all the amenities that Seahouses has to offer. We all enjoyed our stay very much,a lovely area to explore.
Michael
Lovely house and we would definitely certainly stay there again it had everything we needed for a wonderful week
Christine
This is a very comfortable bungalow close to the centre of Seahouses. It was very clean and well equipped. However, on a health and safety note, the steps to the front door are very steep and I feel really need a handrail as I, at 76, found them very difficult to climb. Also the toilet seat in the bathroom needs changing as it does not fit and again is not very safe.
Joanne
Great family accommodation. Truly home from home no negative comments
Lovely bungalow, plenty of room for 56 adults. Spotlessly clean on arrival, all kitchen equipment was very clean and fresh. Lounge and bedrooms very comfortable. Dog friendly with towel and bowls. Plenty of parking for two cars. Milk and biscuits waiting on arrival. Seahouses centre a 5 min walk. The old Bamburgh Castle Inn and the Craster Arms at Beadnell good for food. Lovely walk from Low Newton to Caster, calling at the Jolly Fisherman in Craster for an excellent Crab sandwich on then on return to Low Newton call at the Ship for a piece of delicious frui cake. Lovely holiday. Thank you
Michele and Richard
House was first class, good location, clean, modern and everything you need. Ample parking for two cars is a bonus and within walking distance to all local amenities. The only slight moan is I think there should be some information on what you can and cant put in the recycle bin as the previous guests and ourselves put glass bottles in and the bin men wouldnt empty it. We did remove them all and take them to the bottle recycle. Other than that we would definitely book this lovely cottage again.
Christopher
Lovely house and a great base for our stay. Comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Close to shops and town centre. We would certainly stay again
Property was clean, spacious and well situated in a quiet area with only a short walk to the Main Street and Harbour. Ample parking for 2 cars.
We enjoyed a family holiday in this property. The cleanliness was excellent and it was very home from home. It was ideally placed for local shops and a nice walk to the beach. We would certainly return to Anchor Lodge.
Cottage was very homely and well equipped, staff at the booking office in seahouses are very helpful and friendly. Thank you for another lovely holiday
Absolutely beautiful property and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there. Very handy for the village. This was our re scheduled holiday from last year due to Covid and we won&39t hesitate in coming back. Excellent
Lovely spacious bungalow in a great location. Walking distance to restaurants, pubs and shops but far enough away so no disturbances. Lovely quiet street. We hope to come again!
Perfect location, property well equipped and homely. Will be back next year
Lovely holiday home. Not too far from the beach. Looking forward to booking Anchor Lodge again.
Home from home accomodation. We would like to thank the owners for the lovely Christmas hamper when we arrived
The cottage was excellent and perfect for our family of adults, kids and dogs. We will definitely come back.
Great location, well laid out property that we 3 adults, 3 kids and 2 dogs all enjoyed.
Lovely property, very nicely and tastefully decorated. Well stocked with all you need. Would highly recommend. One of the best cottages we have stayed in!
