The Beach Retreat was in a perfect location, near to the local amenities and the beach. The property was spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The owners thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. The garden area was lovely with seating and parking behind. Information leaflets about places to visit and a folder with information regarding the appliances etc which was useful. We all had a fantastic stay and will return next year. Definitely recommend.

We stayed for 7 nights and wow. The day we arrived we were surprised by how spacious it was! The welcome pack was a welcoming touch. And we went as a family of 6 2 adults, 4 children the rooms were very warm, well decorated, and gave a really homely feeling. Location was perfect as was right next to town but away from the heavy traffic. We have a large car 7 seater toyota verso however the parking was manageable and convenient given the entrance via the back gate. All amenities needed to utilise your stay. I genuinely could not fault this property at all. Every year we come to seahouses we try somewhere new just to see what other properties have to offer, and how convenient places are etc. We will not be staying anywhere else in future. Beach Retreat really is the perfect Seahouses getaway! 1010 recommend to anybody, from families, to golfers, to homebodies!

Parking very difficult for anything bigger than a medium family car. Front doorstep too high for disabled access while the stepped back garden is also difficult for those with limited mobility and was not obvious from the pictures. Stair handrails do not reach both ends of the stairs on both sides. Shower door in main bedroom over no. 73 could not be closed or opened fully. This was reported to the letting agency during the stay.

Fantastic location and the house has everything you could want. Only on a personal level as all our group our mature, would have preferred higher beds and settees but would certainly not put us off going again. Parking a little tight but once again not a major issue. We will definitely book again.

Fantastic place in great location right in the centre of seahouses and access to beachesharbour. Everything you need at the house with lovely outdoor seating areas. We never got a response from our query regarding parking , but worked it out ourselves. It says room for 2 cars, but we had 3 between us, so all backed into the lane and squashed in. We didnt need to move them till we left so perfect. 1 city car and 2 normal size

The smoke alarm went off for a short period of time at 5am on Sunday 21st September switched itself off after 2030 seconds. Noone was awake initially so might be worth checking it.

A great choice. Location for beach walking and shopping was first rate. We didn't move the car for 4 days! A really well equipped cottage with lots of space and a superb rear garden which got the sun all day. We loved it so much we have booked again for a short break in January.

Stayed as a group of 6 golfers and thought this place was outstanding. Very spacious for a group of that size and great amenities. Nice to have a welcome pack for tea coffee etc and some cleaning bits. Parking a little tight but manageable, also some free street parking generally available about 200 yards down the road. Would definitely return, a great base for the wonderful golf courses in Northumberland

We were a group of four golfers and we were all blown away by the space this house has to offer, the photos do not do it justice the two ensuite bedrooms are large the single is nice but warm with the heat from the boiler but did not spoil a good nights sleep, the kitchen is lovely and lounge is large and comfy it also has a large garden to the rear which was great to sit out in at night, parking at rear for two cars is the only issue as it is a bit tight but okish, BUT we all did say we would definitely rebook. Great place to stay in a great location to access up and down the coastline

The property seems to have been updated recently, but the photos don't reflect that. Updated photos would be good as the property is better looking than the current photos. Good location. Close to all amenities. Plenty of room. Toys, games for kids. Travel cot and high chair provided. Very well equipped. Parking we didn't use the spaces. There is onstreet parking a few metres from the front door. Superficially the property was clean, but could possibly do with a deep clean. The stairs are steep. We had two toddler grandchildren with us. Stair gates would be a great addition. I would not hesitate to book here again despite the minor criticisms.

What a hidden gem, such a great property! Plenty of space we were a party of 4 adults and 3 children, very well presented, clean, ample utensils and comfortable beds. Lovely enclosed outdoor area to the rear, which I can imagine being a little sun trap in the summer. The only downside is the parking, but it would not deter us from staying again. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay, the cottage is large and spacious. It was very clean, with good quality fixtures and fittings. Parking is welcome, but a bit tight manoeuvring into the space available. There were no oven trays, only pyrex glass casserole dishes, and no microwaveable bowls, which was inconvenient when preparing dinners. Although generally the house was warm we had cold weather throughout the lounge and master bedroom were still cool when all other rooms were nice and warm. On one morning the heating failed to come on the hive control showed no connection we tried the contact number from sykes, but it was an office number for northumberland cottages, which didn't open till 1000, we tried a mobile number we found in the cottage for Claire but couldn't connect. Fortunately the heating came on after a couple of hours. The cottage is in a great position in Seahouses,, with a cracking butchers a couple of doors down and pubs and restaurants nearby. Great having two en suites, family bathroom and toilet downstairs. There was only four adults in our group but the cottage would easily accommodate more people and would be good for a family. All in all a very nice stay in the cottage and a great location for exploring the area. Would fully recommend.

Had a lovely stay at Beach Retreat. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and more. Enjoy your stay box with biscuits, sugar, milk etc was a lovely touch. Stairs are very steep so anyone with mobility issues could struggle to get up them. Not sure which was the recycling bin. Only 2 very small negatives in what was a very enjoyable stay

This is a very well placed cottage near the centre of Seahouses. It was very clean, comfortable and well supplied. The two sets of keys are very useful for a largemultigenerational party. We didn't use the log burners because the central heating was more than adequate for our early autumn stay. The parking behind the cottage was good for at least 2 cars. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

The only downside to the whole trip was the mattress in the large bedroom. We couldn't sleep on it at all Too soft . It might suit others. Cleaning and snack pack were a lovely touch. Garden is a suntrap.Excellent stay otherwise.

Generally happy with the booking. House is large and comfortable. We were 4 adults and it was great to have some space. Cleanliness fine. Decent kitchen. Hot water and heating was good. A couple of niggles of varying importance 1. The WiFi was not good. Often couldn't get any sort of connection, and even on full power was not up to much. 2. Battery in the smoke alarm was flat and beeping on arrival. Couldn't really justify an emergency call 2 of our 3 nights were the weekend Apart from these, we were happy with our booking.

The property is really beautiful and very well appointed. The ground level was great, we had plenty of space and the garden was a real bonus. The bedrooms were very comfortable as was the bedding and beds. I love ensuites and this house had plenty of showering, WCs, bathing facilities. The stairs are quite steep and might not be suitable for all, although we didn't need them I would hope there would be child gates available for those that do. Having read previous reviews we were a bit anxious about the parking but we had no problem at all. My husband asked the neighbours and they told us exactly where to park. On the negative side I feel the cleaners need to pay a bit more attention as we found cobwebs both in the house and the outside doors, and crumbs under the kitchen table. We were happy to follow the bin collection instructions and did so, but obviously the guests before us hadn't as we arrived to a pretty full refuse bin. I would also like to see glass recycling provision this is something I do as a matter of course at home or in other holiday accommodation. All in all this is a lovely house in a lovely town and I would definitely book this house again.

Lovely weekend stay with family, house is a good size overall in a great location minutes from Seahouses centre. Parking at rear is tight but has access into rear garden. Well stocked kitchen utensils for all you could need. Games, DVDs & books should you need them. Only negatives Room with Bunk beds only suitable for children as small I think check in time could be sooner than 4pm considering you have to check out at 10am. However would recommend and would stay again.

Cottage was larger than expected, beds comfortable. A short walk to bus stop and High Street. Excellent location to visit Alnwick, Amble , Warkworth and other coastal areas. Many places of historical interest. Unfortunately a few negatives Arrived at 4pmish to a very cold cottage, no starter packs for the two fires, enough washing up liquid for 2 washes only, freezer requires defrosting, cutlery tray needed cleaning,outside refuse bin was overflowing with black bags. Thankfully we found 2 oil filled radiators until the heating fired up. It's a shame about the negatives as the cottage was lovely and well positioned

We loved staying at Beach Retreat in Oct half term . Its a beautiful & well equipped property . Great location and parking wasnt a problem for us as my husband is v good at navigating small ish spaces . The neighbour was reasonable too as we were reasonable & polite with us . The property is v good value for what is provided . Perfect for two families to share a lovely spacious cottage together . Would love to return .

Guttering above front doors drips in 2 places when raining, and on the rear of the property the second rainwater drain to the right of the back door appears blocked. Garden could do with tidying up, but in the main we were very happy with the property, handy for Seahouses, and nice and quiet in the evenings. Plenty of variation for places to eat as well.

A well positioned property, close to the town centre. The ship inn food and drink was great, a bus to Bamburgh and walk back is a nice day out, as is a walk along to Beadnell and a lunch in the courtyard cafe. Scotts Butchers a few doors away had top quality produce as well. 4 bedrooms in the property, but lots of beds as there was a trundle in one small single room and a bunk bed and trundle in the second small room. The 5th TV room also had a small double sofa bed. Lovely back garden that got the sun from mid day onwards. A few simple things that were a bit disappointing and could have made a big difference. No handsoap in the toilets on arrival, and two fire places that had not been cleaned and no stater supply of wood have always received this at every other property we have stayed at. The dark wooden blinds gave good privacy but made the house very dark and the handles locks on the doors were a bit cheap temperamental! All in all, a good stay enjoyed by the full family, but with a few small and inexpensive tweaks it could have been great!

Would highly recommend The Beach Retreat at Seahouses. We had an enjoyable two night stay. The property was very clean and comfortable and in an excellent location. The only issue I would like to highlight is that the parking at the rear of the propery proved challenging. This was partly due to where a neighbours car was parked. The neighbour obviously took great pleasure in watching us struggle out of their window. However this did not spoil our stay. The Beach Retreat is excellent value for money.
