Fisherman's Cottage Reviews

Very clean, comfortable, central & quiet
Stayed for 1 night. 3 bedrooms, very spacious lounge & kitchen with all utensils you may need. Would definitely revisit. A short walk away from the harbour but very quiet & peaceful in the cottage. I booked via booking.com however sykes were not reliable in sending key code. I rang 5 times until I finally got it.
A breath away from the sea
A lovely cottage, great accommodation sleeping 6 comfortably. Everything was available but a shame the dishwasher wasn't working and the washing machine was quite old (took about 6 to 8 hours to dry the clothes in the tumble dryer.) However, the close proximity to the sea (2 min walk) outweighed these things and it was lovely to wander down every day to the harbour or across the golf links to a beautiful bay, usually deserted. Great for kids - rock pooling was amazing and the boat trip to the Farne Islands is a must. The one draw back of the cottage is that there is no parking. (double yellow lines everywhere). The suggestion is to use the town pay and display carpark and buy a weekly pass, but we discovered they don't do this any more so the daily cost would have been ?3.50, adding an additional ?24.50 to your stay. However, we managed to park at the top of the road on the main street every day where there are no double yellow lines, and we always found a space, so not a real problem unless you are carting lots of stuff back and forth. All in all a great stay in a beautiful location.
The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and cosy. There was plenty of hot water and heating if it was required.
Lovely, well equipped cottage in a very well located village.
A great cottage in a superb location. It was well equipped and had high quality fittings and fixtures. Will definitely return.
Many thanks for a lovely holiday in Fisherman's Cottage. We loved the cottage, which is beautifully furnished and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. The location is ideal, and we enjoyed the friendly community at Seahouses. Would be very happy to come again!
It's was beautiful and the lady who holds the keys was so helpful. Really nice. Could not fault the cottage, the place or the weather. We all had a lovely weekend.
The Cottage was very clean, warm and welcoming. It is in a great location, very close to the harbour and amenities. There was ample room and thoughtful touches such as board games and books. I would thoroughly recommend Fisherman's Cottage and I have no doubt we will be back.
Comfortable, quiet and relaxing
A well equipped cottage in a quiet street close enough to the village centre to not have to worry about the walk. No car parking close by but that didn't impact negatively on our stay. We just felt really comfortable there and hope to return.
Top Class Stay
This property was just as described. It was very clean and tidy with all the facilities you would need. The property is well situated for getting into the town. The only minus point for it was the parking. Although a parking voucher was provided for the car park, the car park was a good 10 minutes walk away from the cottage. Other than this the cottage is everything you would want from a holiday let.
This is a lovely holiday cottage, roomy and comfortable in a good location. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a fantastic holiday and the Cottage was the perfect base for trips to the beach and to explore the area. It's a really lovely and spacious place to stay and I'd definitely recommend it.
Wonderful location, lovely house. Plenty of crockery, cutlery - highly recommend.
The cottage is near everything we needed and is spacious, we have already recommended it to friends! We came to the cottage for our honeymoon as it was the first weekend away for us before we got married so had a special meaning for us, I always feel like I have come home when I open the door!
We loved Northumberland, the place and the people, the cottage was much more than we expected, the standard very high, and the owners more than helpful. Would recommend this to anyone.
The property exceeded our expectations and was absolutely first class. The owners were really helpful and really nice people, would love to go back again.
The cottage was wonderful. Everything was at least as good as the description. We had a couple of questions about the cottage and contacted the owners directly. They couldn't have been more helpful. We will be back!
We were very pleased and impressed with Fisherman's Cottage - the pictures do not do it justice - we found it to be much more spacious than it looked. It was warm, cosy and lovely with excellent lighting. The bedrooms were spacious with lots of storage. The location was great too - 1 minute to the harbour. We hope to return and will definitely recommend to friends.
Absolutely lovely
Cottage had a lovely feel when we first arrived. Really cosy & warm. Bedrooms all chintzy heaven & really comfy, we slept well which is rare in a strange bed! Central for everything. Only downside is no parking.
Well kept, clean and cosy property and very central for harbour and shops and pubs etc. A really great little place, had brilliant week.
Our second week this year in Northumberland. Great place to stay! My wife and I almost felt like locals in this very friendly place. Very nice property and just as during the first week in Bilton Barns, very friendly hosts. Highly recommended. An unforgettable experience.
We loved the location and the fact that a two drive in any direction allowed us to visit Edinburgh and many of Northumberland's wonderful sights and locations.
great cottage!
We have been twice to fishermans cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, its clean well presented and close to everything. It wont be our last stay there either, The photo doesnt do it justice as they have new windows etc now and has everything you need. We love it.
The cottage was very well located in Seahouses, within a very short walk of all amenities.
A great place for my dads 50th Birthday treat for the family. Absolutely excellent accommodation, making us all feel special. We were all so shocked as we walked through the door into something decorated to such a standard and into a place so clean. Nice touches with jigsaws and books.
The house was very pleasant and very well located. We enjoyed staying there and had a lovely time.
Excellent house which was in a perfect location in the center of Seahouses. I would without a doubt use again and recommend both this property and Sykes Cottages to others.
Loved the area, and the cottage was an ideal base for us - good location to easily explore other parts of the coast and a really lovely cottage.
An excellent cottage, well presented with all the mod cons. Ideally situated for harbor, Farne Island, Bamburgh, Low Newton by the Sea, Craster and Alnwick.
lovely well kept house close to all amenities and attractions
Well situated in the town and although it was a town it was very quiet and peaceful. Not what you would imagine if you live in or near a town yourself. The cottage was very clean and spacious with everything you could possibly need. the beach was no more than five minutes away which more than made up for the property having no outside area of its own.
The location of the property was very good and the house very cosy and welcoming. The cottage was very comfortable and perfect for our needs.
My son says it was awesome!!
It was a really lovely cottage. immaculatly clean. Lovely cotton bedding and excellent kitchen contents. 2mins walk to the beach and the town. Parking was about ?15 for the week in the town but you could park in nearby streets. Only downside was 1 bathroom and no outdoor space. Would be really nice if it had a solid fuel fire for the winter, excellent fish n chips in Seahouses.
The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The area was very nice and the people were friendly. There was so much to do in the area we ran out of time! A lovely holiday.
Location was great as near to the harbour and beach. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Excellent bedrooms with very comfy beds and good quality cotton sheets and duvets.
Loved the Northumberland coastline. The cottage was well positioned, well equipped and had pretty much everything that we could have wanted.
Lots of space in all of the rooms and a very cosy feeling to the property.
The cottage was brilliant and we would recommend it to all our friends.
most memorable holiday
The service was 1st class, my wife is disabled and on oxygen 24 hrs a day.Mrs Jackson ensured the delivery and collection of the oxygen. She showed concern over our well being during our stay. The cottage was excellent for our needs, nice and clean and tidy with ample room to cater for my wife's needs. The cottage was on the doorstep of all local amenities, two minutes and you where at the shops and in the evening to the night life. I can't fault our holiday as everything from the cottage to the amenities to the weather was all you could ask for.
Balmal Essex
Very rewarding and being ideally located to get the best out of the area from a very comfortable base.
