Hares Form Reviews

Aileen
Great accommodation. Close to amenities. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Elizabeth
The accommodation was extremely good. Unfortunately, the cleanliness let it down. A thorough vacuum of floors and a quick mop of the kitchen floor would have made the world of difference. Overall, a comfortable holiday home.
Wonderful Stay! ! A lovely cottage in the heart of Seahouses with an easy walk to the Town centre and cliff top walks with access to the beaches towards Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Great facilities with a lovely living room and log fire. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. 3 good sized bedrooms. Double beds were really comfortable, the single less so, maybe something to address? Good showers in the en suite and the main bathroom. As others have mentioned the parking space is really small and difficult to get into. Looked at it and didnt even bother trying as getting out even if you got in will be a pain. That said this is a lovely lovely cottage and we had a great time. We will return.
Absolutely loved the cottage and it's location and will definitely be back! The parking was tight but I managed fine with my Yaris, it fitted in nicely! The only issue we has was the cleanliness of the cottage, there were lots of cobwebs in all rooms, wardrobes, behind the radiators in the bathroom, I would expect the cleaners to do a more thorough job. The duvet cover I had looked tired and was ripped, it was clean but just tatty. Other than that we had a lovely stay, Seahouses is a lovely village and the perfect spot for exploring the area.

Property is very close to centre of seahouses and its facilities. Clean and well equipped for a comfortable stay. I hope to visit again. In this area there is very limited parking and there is a small space at the rear but it's a tight squeeze to get in for a larger car. I managed to park a Prius there.
Lovely property in a lovely setting. We had a great holiday.
Cottage well equipped and kitchen updated since our last stay. Its a great location and very comfortable.
Place and locality are lovely, I can tell a new kitchen has been fitted which is really nice job, parking was tight but just managed and the kind lady across slowed us to turn on her driveway. The only thing I can complain about is there was quite a lot of dust in corners and in the cupboards, and the hot water could do with turning down a bit as it is scolding hot. Minor things to make the place perfect. Overall a lovely cottage very homely and great location. Will definitely use next time we are in the area. Thanks.
The location is great. Gathered parking an issue beforehand, found off street parking few minutes away. The parking description should be clear how tricky it is. No deep clean for some time, tea stains down bin and radiator. When emptied bin, its inside was thick black grime. Found a pin embedded in bedroom carpet with my foot. Bathroom cupboard had toiletry gloops, leaked bottles not cleaned up. Accumulated dog hair in corners of room. Found vacuum full & stuffed full of dog hair. Blankets on sofas needed cleaning. Sofas too slippery to sit in comfortably. Back entrance filthy. Hot water issue too, 3 days to sort, although this seemed more a communication issue between Sykes and Northumbria holiday lets. Other than that, a lovely holiday!
Michele
The property was well presented, comfortable and very clean apart from cobwebs in the wardrobes, and was equipt with everything we needed. There was a cistern leak in the ensuite, which when reported was dealt with impressively quickly. The welcome pack was a nice touch. We loved Hares Form being situated within minutes of town centre and the harbour. We wouldn't hesitate in booking the cottage again. Thank you.
We have just returned from Hares Form for the 2nd year running & loved it just as much as last year. The cottage is ideally located for the town & harbour & pubs, everything on your doorstep. We found it spotless on arrival & well equipped with everything you need for a perfect holiday in this beautiful part of the country. Will definitely be returning.
Ashley
Great cottage really well located. We loved being in the centre of Seahouses. Very comfortable there was only two of us so we had lots of room. However we didnt use the parking space as it proved quite difficult to access thanks to an occupied parking space impeded the access, but as we have an ev we used the Station Yard car park and chargers.
Pauline
We loved the cottage and had a wonderful time.
Really enjoyed our stay exactly what we were looking for. Cosy cottage in central seahouses. House had everything we needed. There are a few comments about parking the space only fits a small car but that wasnt an issue for us as we decided to drop our stuff at cottage and then parked car in main car park for 3 nights for 30.
It was a comfortable stay, and the facilities were good. Car parking is tricky we have a Kia Venga and that's the largest car that could be parked there. It was mainly the difficulty of manoeuvring around the other cars already parked at various places that made it tricky and backing in around the corner. Not sure how effective the dishwasher is as we emptied the dishwasher when we arrived only to find three plates that hadn't been washed properly two had to have another two washes, the third we had to soak for a while before trying again. Certainly would consider staying at Hares Form again should we return to Northumbria.
Great Position in Seahouses. 3 pubs withing 2 min walk property is warm and welcoming with all appliances needed. Parking is a real problem, to find a note with 'Parking for one small car...' was poor we parked within 2 inches of the house and wall which only just allowed neighbours access to their gate Should they have a gate? normally would have had to reverse car out of very tight back alley, luckily car out back was gone so enabled us to quickly reverse round onto their property to turn our car round. Every other property seems to have a designated space why not this one? Minor things Paper thin walls & floors offered no sound barrier & pine in living room and bedrooms was tacky just my opinion Stonework was nice. All in All if parking was sorted we would be happy to return regulally!

The property itself was beautiful and very comfortable. It was in a great location and had everything we needed for a week stay. The only slight niggle was the parking. The property was advertised as having a designated parking space but theres no information about where this is. On arrival I reversed around the back of the property and was met with multiple signs presumably put up by the neighbour all of which giving instruction on where not to and how not to park. These signs actually made things more confusing. It would have been helpful to have a little sign from the cottage themselves indicating where to park and actually putting the information in the guest book or on the email with key safe code etc. I saw on a previous review online where the owner of the cottage had responded to a comment about parking by saying that information for parking was in the guest booklet but it actually isnt. I picked this particular cottage on this occasion because it had a parking space as I was on holiday with my elderly mother who would struggle with walking too far. I expected the space to be small but I was surprised that even my Mini just fit within the space. Overall, we had a lovely week at the cottage and I would definitely book again regardless of the small space to park in.
Beautiful cottage in great location ruined by the neighbour. The cottage has shared parking at the rear. We have not even got out of the car when the rear neighbour was out berating us about where we can park and even threatening to damage our car to get hers out if we were not far enough over. Created a very bad atmosphere for our whole break. My advise would be dont book unless you are in a fiat 500
Alison
We had a fabulous stay and found the property to be fully equipped and perfectly located. We will be back! The parking spot, although easy to reverse in, was mainly occupied by the house opposite. It didn't bother us though as we were able to park a short walk away.
Nice homely cottage, enjoyed stay. Parking a problem
Lovely cottage everything that you need. Excellent location enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful stay and would happily stay at Hares Form again. The cottage is spacious, clean and well equipped. It's easy to say how wonderful the place was, but I'll list my very minor gripes these are documented in other people's reviews 1. The mattress in the main bedroom is very lumpy, although I slept like a log due to all the walking we did. The mattress has a lovely topper on it but the main mattress I'd suggest is budget quality, but this does not reflect on the rest of the property. 2. The sofas are not the comfiest either... they are shiny brown leather with a low back, so you end up slipping down almost horizontally. Again, it's a minor point. 3. Car parking... you need to be able to reverse a car around a tight short lane. Other properties share this lane, and once other cars are parked it becomes tight. One day, we were blocked in due to the poor standard of parking by others. Again, don't let this put you off as parking is readily available just a short walk away.
We really enjoyed out stay at Hares Form. It had everything we needed, very welcoming it really was home from home Lovely and clean, stacks of hot water, comfy beds and lovely bedding. Close to everything but lovely and quiet. We had no problem parking, it is a bit tight but not an issue. Would recommend and will definitely be booking again.
Absolutely beautiful cottage, ideally situated for all amenities. Everything in it that you would want for a perfect holiday. Would highly recommend.
Sandra
Hi we enjoyed our short stay, however it MUST be highlighted how tight and difficult the parking is for 1 car. We didnt expect how tight it was and we have a small car, plus other people parking in the lane made parking there almost impossible. Maybe better signs The main bedroom bed needs a new mattress it was the worst mattress we have ever slept on. If these details were attended to we would definitely rebook.
Hare's Form is an absolutely beautiful, cosy cottage. From the moment we walked in we felt at home. I really liked the decor and the furnishings, at the same time modern and homely. The window in between the kitchen and the living room was especially charming, as were the stone walls. We didn't use the log burner we are incompetent townies! but I can imagine it makes it absolutely gorgeous when it's on. The positioning of the cottage also excellent both for the centre of the village and for walking the surrounding coast. I highly recommend this cottage! The only point I would highlight as a negative are the bins. The rubbish hadn't been collected for a while and so we had no room for our own rubbish and had to leave a separate bin bag on top of the wheelie bin. I understand if no one is in the cottage on bin day they might not be emptied, but having no where to put food waste is not ideal. The parking is also a bit tricky. Once I got used to it I was fine, but I would definitely emphasise it needs to be a small car as the easiest way to get in and out of the space is to reverse in round a corner between a wall and a house.
Very cosy, spacious and comfortable cottage in a great location. Had everything we needed for our stay only suggestion would be to provide a couple of blankets.
We were very pleased with the decor of the property and the style put us in a holiday mood. The cleanliness of each room was excellent. It was ideally situated to the harbour and the sea front.
Wonderful cottage in an almost perfect location. No hot water upstairs is the only quibble. Seahouses itself is just lovely !
Lovely well maintained, clean and comfortable cottage in a lovely quiet street . Our only concern relates to the minimal and not easy accessible parking, but that appears to be case for the majority of properties in Seahouses. Other than that, we had no problems whatsoever.
Joanne
Fabulous stay at Hares Form, the house is quaint, comfortable and spotless, it's around a minute from the sea and the town but it feels 'out of the way' as it's so quiet where it's situated. We will return as we loved our stay 5
Gregory
First time at Hares Form. Very happy with the location, two minutes from sea front, pubs and shops. The accommodation is very homely, cottage very warm, didn't need to use the log burner. All home comforts provided and good quality. Would highly recommend if you don't need a garden for pets, but be aware the parking behind is snug to access anything bigger than a Ford focus you would struggle. Would definitely go back as we love that area of Northumberland! One final thing please provide pizza cutter
Reginald
Very nice cottage warm and comfortable.
Andrew
Great location. Very Short walk to all amenities. Walk north out of seahouses and there is sandy beach all the way to Bamburgh. Walk south and join the beach all the way to Beadnell and beyond. Amazing! Cottage warmed up nicely once we worked out electric radiators. Really big stove, you need to buy own wood and coal. A new seal has been put into door which makes it difficult to shut. I was pleased my son was there to close it as I was struggling which was a concern considering the fire was going. Hopefully the seal will bed down but I didnt use the stove again once he left at the end of weekend and my wife and I stayed for the week. Cottage is comfortable and cozy and we quickly felt at home. Would definitely return.
Great location, everything you need. Very comfy beds with lovely sheets and pillows. All in all, loved it
Excellent accommodation and is comfortably ideal for five people. Brilliantly situated for all amenities with lots of wonderful places nearby to visit. The local people are exceptionally friendly and certainly make you feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely hope to return.
We all felt the cottage was like a tardis. ..it was larger on the inside than how it appeared on the outside! It was very clean & spacious throughout. We would certainly book this cottage if we decide to visit this beautiful area again!
Great cottage in a great location. Cottage always warm after returning from long walks. The stove was great for the cold nights. Beds so comfy and all appliances great.
