Inveray Reviews

Stayed here before. Property very nice and clean . Need more details on getting into the app for BT View , couldnt access it,which we found frustrating as instructions say we could get sport .Also couldnt find a DVD player. Had to keep boosting the hot water otherwise it went cold which was a shock if you were in the middle of getting a shower. Small things which need addressing.
This is our 2nd stay in 18 months. Fabulous house situated in close proximity to walks and access to the harbourtown centre and local towns and villages. The house is very warm, exceptionally clean, well equipped, and very comfortable with lots of space for a family of 46. Lovely garden enclosed to the rear of the property for the dog with lots of opportunity to walk on the beaches. Great last minute get away for the School October Hols. Thank you for a great stay, we will hopefully return again some day.

Very comfortable cottage. Secure rear garden particularly important for our dog. Also a sun trap in the afternoon and private not overlooked, perfect for soaking up the rays with a glass of wine. Lovely spacious dining kitchen which would benefit from a couple of additions a pizza cutter and a steamer, which would help to cook without having to use several pans. The kitchen has a quality cooker and dishwasher but the freezer could do with being repairedreplaced. The oven is desperate for a deep clean. The lounge is very comfortable with a sea view to the right from the front window. TV with BTEE tv allowing access to Netflix, Sport etc. Bedrooms are very comfortable with ample storage space and quality bedding. Would be an idea if the ownercleaner could arrange to call on Bin Days and give the dustbins a good wash out and clean whilst empty, they are desperate for a good scrub and disinfecting. The cottage is perfectly located, a 10 minute stroll to Seahouses where you find all the shops youll need. Across the road from the cottage youll find a secure field with a well used track to walk the dog towards the coastal path. Weve loved our stay at Inveray and hope to return next year.
Location very good, ideal for the town and for early morning walks with the dog. The back garden was also secure, and pleasant sat in the sun of an afternoon.Downstairs loo was also a plus.
The door mat by kitchen door doesnt fit properly and several of us very nearly tripped and fell. Couldnt find any clothes pegs. However house was fab, position was brilliant and we had an amazing multi generational holiday so thank you.
Perfect quiet base for exploring the north east. Inveray gave us comfort and great facilities making it enjoyable for humans and dog. Brilliant walks through the golf course to the beach or into Seahouses. Highly recommend Lewiss fish and chip shop and also the Ship Inn for tasty bites. I have been to the North East several times and can confirm that this accommodation and location is an ideal place to be. Thanks for the cake and drink. Hope to return in the future.
On arrival the property was everything we were expecting, great location with ample parking. On entering, everything was good, the property was spacious, the lounge was a good size and comfortable and everything appeared clean and tidy as expected. In the kitchen the mugs, cups, plates and glasses were all clean and the cupboards containing them were spotless, as was the cutlery draw and cutlery. The fridge was good. A pint of milk in the greeting pack would have been useful, but never mind, we had brought some with us. We then opened the freezer door and oh dear! The middle drawer front was missing, presumably pulled off by some previous occupier trying to retrieve their food from a frozen shut drawer. The top drawer was frozen shut also and the bottom drawer was dirty, but at least this one opened! This was totally unacceptable to us as we wanted to cook in the property and needed the freezer to store food we didnt want to shop every day on holiday. Next came the kitchen utensil drawer, which was dirty, as were some of the utensils. This was somewhat of a surprise as it was next to the spotless cutlery drawer. We then moved on to the pots and pans. These were a mixed bag of clean, needed washing, needed throwing in the bin! We found various other issues of poor cleaning throughout the property e.g. more dusty cupboards in the kitchen and dusty drawers in the bedrooms. We would normally have ignored these as trivial, but were now pretty annoyed. We immediately sent a complaint to the letting agent, complete with photographs. They got back to us very promptly, thank you, saying they would get the owner to contact us as soon as possible. We are still waiting! As soon as it became apparent the owner was not going to do anything, we defrosted and cleaned the freezer so we could use it. We cleaned the kitchen utensil drawer and the kitchen utensils we used before and after use. Im afraid the ones we didnt use were left as we found them! We did our best with the pots and pans, but had to leave a pile out for the owner to dispose of. We added the greasy dirty oven gloves to this pile after deciding we couldnt use them. We couldnt comply with the letting agents instructions to leave the property as we found it, but at least we have the satisfaction of knowing that the next occupants will be able to open the freezer drawers! The property has such potential, it is such a shame we had to leave this review as all of the issues were easy to rectify we did some during our stay.

We had a fabulous week at Inveray, a real home from home! The position is great, so close to beach and town, private parking for a large car, njcely decorated, ample utensils, plenty of room to move around, beds super comfy and great hot shower, secure garden, have been quite a few times now over the years and wouldnt go anywhere else, love it!
Lovely property well situated for town and coastal walking We caught the tail ... Lovely property well situated for town and coastal walking We caught the tail end of a storm and the towns electricity was affected Claire the owner was great at keeping us informed about the situation thank you We will return to this property as it had all we needed
Roland
Lovely accommodation perfectly located to enjoy the Northumbria.
Andrea
Had the most wonderful week in this lovely property, perfect location, everything you need provided, if I had to put a negative it would be the cleanliness , an issue that could be easily solved. Would definitely return
Great stay, property really good . Will hopefully return.

What a fabulous house Inveray is, great location for the beach through the golf course opposite, shops and takeaways in the centre, sea views from the front of the house too. Its the most comfortable let weve stayed in, the beds and sofas were exceptional. The garden is essentially enclosed unless you have an inquisitive border terrier who managed to get into the neighbours garden! and the nest of collared doves outside the kitchen window was a lovely bonus. My main criticism is in the bathroom, theres no handheld shower hose attached to the bath and the separate shower is quite small and tight up against the sink so if youre big my husband is 62 its not the easiest to use and theres nowhere to put your toiletries while showering. The addition of the hose on the bath would make all the difference for us staying next time. We would definitely recommend the house, the welcome pack was a nice touch too. The carpet in the lounge is quite stained but I guess were nearing the end of the season and Im sure that would be cleaned ready for next year.
Pauline
Had a lovely week at Inveray House very clean and comfortable everything there that you require Location ideal only small fault was pillows in front bedroom not firm enough but thats just my personal preference but bed very comfortable!
Overall the property was as expected. This is the 4th time we have rented this property. We do feel that there are a few things which could do with updating or maintaining. 1. Small shower head is loose. No place to put any washing toiletries 2. Some kitchen utensils could be replaced I.e. knives are dull, plastic spoons broken and food grabber unusable. Dish rack not practical. No dishcloth. 3. Overall the kitchen looks tired. 4. Outside is a pleasant space but maybe a lick of paint and a better step out of the patio doors would be a plus. Grass is growing out of the gutter. Overall the cottage is cosy, location is ideal, garden is perfect for us and we enjoyed our stay.
Great cottage in a lovely area. 5 minute walk to the sandy beach, 10 mins into town and a great base for exploring. Much appreciated welcome pack too! Thoroughly recommended.

Ok, maybe some decorating would not go amiss, but this holiday let was an amazing find. A fantastic property in an amazing location, close to the town, excellent Italian and Indian Restaurant, beach, walks and some wonderful views and night skies. There were six of us, all the facilities were available and there was more than enough room for us without feeling crowded. Our VERY big dog loved the garden and spent many happy hours sleeping and basking in the sunshine. So many thanks to the owner for allowing us such a wonderful stay.
Fantastic accommodation that had everything we needed. Nice, clean and spacious property in a great location, 200m away from a stunning dog friendly beach. When we come back to Seahouses we will be looking straight away to rebook here.
Inveray at Seahouses was advertised by Sykes as a Detached property, when in fact it is an end terrace. The house itself is clean and well maintained. Beds are really comfortable. In a great location, 5 minute walk into Seahouses and a short walk over nearby Golf Course to a lovely beach.
Great property in a great location. Kitchen was one of the best equipped I have ever had
Trevor
Nice cottage, well situated for all the popular tourist attractions and quite spacious.
Sandra
This is our third time staying at Inveray, we love it! The house has plenty of room, lovely decor throughout, super comfy beds, great shower, well stocked kitchen, private driveway for our large Volvo, garden for our dog to have a roam around, a real home from home. You can easily walk to the beach and town and the owners left a bottle of Prosecco and lemon drizzle cake which was much appreciated and a lovely touch
The property was better than expected in the photos. My only suggestion is some new pillows on the king sized bed. Everything else was great plenty room, clean, great location. We visit Seahouses every year and we booked this property whilst there for next March too!
We have stayed at the cottage a few times now. We find it well positioned for walks, bus service and amenities. We have a dog so the enclosed garden is a big plus. Our stay was early January so weather was a factor, but we got out every day. The cottage is cosy and comfortable. The heating was used a lot but it was warm throughout. Plenty hot water. There is also a fire you can lite. Overall a cosy cottage with parking for 2 cars comfortably.
Great holiday home, with everything you could possibly need. This was our second visit and Im sure it wont be our last. Thank you for the welcome gifts too! The Christmas decorations were great too!
Pamela
We always enjoy our stay at Inveray, thats why we go so often!
After a long journey from the Midlands we really appreciated the bottle of Prosecco and biscuits left by the owner. The house was ideal for us spacious rooms, comfortable furniture and beds and a private enclosed garden which was safe for our dog. Only about 10 minutes walk into the town and an even shorter walk across the golf course to the huge beach. This was our first holiday in Northumberland but certainly won't be our last. We hope to be able to stay at Inveray again.
We have visited Seahouses annually for several years but this was our first time staying at Inveray. It was perfectly located for us as the dog loves his early morning walk across the golf course to the beach and this property is literally opposite with great views. The garden is a lovely suntrap which proved very handy this year with the unusually hot weather. The house is large and comfortably furnished and handy for walking to shops, pubs etc. Unusually for Seahouses,it also has ample parking with a drive you can actually fit a large car on and space outside as well. While we were there, the owner rang us as the previous guests had experienced issues with the cleaning and she wanted to check everything was ok when we arrived it was. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again in the future when we are travelling with just one dog and not our larger rabble!!
Alison
Overall a nice property, but ther were a few niggly things that annoyed me. In all our many years of renting a cottage in the UK I have never had to provide own dishwasher tablets there is always 67 provided, no cloths for wiping work tops, no bath mat, I could go on. Trivial I know but annoying.
A fantastic holiday home with beautiful views to the sea. Everything you need for a family holiday. The house was beautifully clean on arrival. Bedrooms all good sizes with comfortable beds, good bathroom facilities and the kitchen had everything needed for a selfcatering holiday. The back garden is a lovely little sun trap in the afternoon. The location is perfect for exploring, with the short walk to the beach making this an ideal holiday stay. Our only comments would be that unfortunately the freezer was still full of previous visitors food when we arrived, and an extra armchair would have been useful in the living room for us all to sit comfortably. However, these did not impact on our holiday, and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend or rebook the property. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Joanne
Beautiful property, ideally located, very. Close to the beach and the town. We were surprised at how big the rooms were. It was very well equipped and the garden was nice to have. Would definitely book again.
Michael
Great property, more than happy to return as it was our first trip to Northumberland and we found Seahouses and Inveray an ideal place for our base. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Pamela
The property itself was just what we required, the beds were comfortable, bed linen and towels very good. There were a few pieces of crockery which were a little dirty and two things in the oven which had the remains of cooked bacon? on them, requiring an instant wash. The freezer needs replacing. I think we may have missed the bin collection as it was not clear when bins would be collected. The property is in a really good position, close to beach and Seahouses town with a lovely view and abundance of walks around the area.
Sandra
Second time staying at Inveraray, lovely big house with all the comforts of home, super comfy bed, lovely hot shower, plenty of space to move about, well stocked kitchen, enclosed garden for our dog and spacious driveway for our Volvo car. Great location, right to take dog to beach, left for short walk into town. Milk and biscuits left for us on arrival, lovely touch, thank you. Had a great holiday, we will be back!
Yvonne
Beautiful location with everything we needed. Only one suggestion, a bath mat. Thank you
Lovely comfortable cottage with wonderful views. Well equipped and decorated. Windows and TV screen could have done with a clean but appreciate its a difficult time of year.
We enjoyed a few days in this lovely property. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. The sea view from the lounge window was mesmerising and I spent a few relaxing hours just watching the waves roll into shore. The log burner was a blessing as the weather was very cold and after our daily dog walk, it was wonderful to settle down in one of the old chairs which we loved, to warm up.Given the chance my little Dachshund would have spent the whole day toasting himself in front of it! It was a real home from home. Very comfortable and welcoming and I would certainly recommend anyone to stay here. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely property, spacious with everything you need, nice decor and a real home from home, private parking on drive and secure garden for our dog, location brilliant for walking to beach and to shops, had a great week&rsquos holiday.
Our family loved our time at Inveray. It was perfect for a family with 3 girls and 1 boy. It was very well equipped, had lovely spacious rooms and a wonderful view from the lounge window especially of sunrise over the sea. We hope very much to return.
Lovely property in a great location,so handy for the beach and for exploring the area. Good range of utensils in the kitchen and would recommend to friends and family and hope to visit again.
