Kittiwake Cottage Reviews

A very well appointed, cozy, clean and comfortable cottage. An excellent location, less than three minutes walk from amenities and good walks. Plenty of information provided on the surrounding area and things to do, plus the parking permit is a very handy and welcome touch. Bedrooms are roomy and comfortable and we slept very well. The only niggle is the shower it needs an update. Other than that, no complaints and a recommended stay.
Michael
Nice place to stay
Excellent base for exploring Northumberland. Great local situation for shopsservices and a short walk from the harbour and coast path walks. Comfortable bed and bedding and all required kitchen ware was provided.
Sharon
Lovely property in a good location. Well equipped, although I didnt find a hairdryer and one not listed. Its a small thing but would be helpful. Instructions on where town car park space would have been useful. Parking permit was fantastic. Thank you we would come again.
This is a lovely cottage. It is well appointed and very comfortable. It's ideally located in Seahouses, close to shops, harbour etc. We have a dog and she was very comfortable here.
Truly wonderful place to stay, we are frequent visitors to Seahouses and this property is up at the top end of places we have stayed in, great location and lovely clean cottage.
It was a lovely stay. What was so nice, was that when we arrived there were some tea coffee & milk with biscuits. Just incase we forgot some things. This was also true of a mini cleaning pack. You got the feeling the owner cared that we had a good stay, which makes all the difference.
Angela
Cottage was fine, however, we found the parking space rather tight as a very large car was parked in the space next to us.
This is a lovely cottage. The living room is small but very cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is very roomy with ample space for a large dining table and 4 chairs and is extremely well equipped with everything you need for your stay. There is a large walkin cupboard off the kitchen which is great for storage. The bedrooms, although slightly on the small side, are tastefully decorated with plenty of drawer and hanging space and extremely comfortable beds! The property was spotlessly clean throughout. The cottage is in a residential side street and has no pretty views, but the location is quiet and ideal for accessing local shops, cafes and restaurants which are only a few minutes' walk away. There is no outdoor space to speak of, with a tiny garden on the street and no garden at the back. The parking space at the rear is in a narrow lane which can be tricky to negotiate depending on how neighbours have parked. I stayed at Kittiwake for 3 nights with 2 friends walking the coastal path. Seahouses was an ideal base and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Melanie
Lovely stay at the cottage, brilliant location, didn't do much cooking, but the facilities we did use, worked fine. We had glorious weather! And our little Beddlington terrier is still recovering from all the walking we did!
Suzanne
Lovely cottage which is very well equipped. A Lovely welcome pack awaited us. A parking pass was very thoughtful and useful. The location is a good base for exploring the very under estimated Northumberland history and beaches. We would definitely recommend.
Stephen
The house is well equipped but smelt stale and needed to be aired. The parking was an absolute joke a very small space at the rear of the house. If all the other properties in the terrace had been occupied we could not have parked at all. Suggest you are more honest about the parking arrangements.
We had a lovely few days at Kittewake cottage. Perfect location and the cottage was spotless and very comfortable. We had no problem at all with the parking at the rear of the cottage. We were very lucky with the weather but Seahouses would be great at anytime. Its a few minutes walk to the beach, good pubs and restaurants. I highly recommend.
Christine
A beautiful little cottage, very well equipped. Close to several fabulous places to eat, a perfect base for our first trip to Northumberland.
Shirley
Very clean and comfortable and warm. Our 2nd visit to Seahouses and we used public transport to go to all the places we wanted to re visit. We love this part of the North East and would use this cottage again as so convenient for all amnesties, shops buses and eatery's.
The cottage is great and very well equipped, with true consideration given to comfort and quality. The only issues relate to the parking space at the rear. It doesn't really work given that you need to move your car every time the neighbour at no 5 wants to go in or out. The parking permit is therefore essential and very welcome. Increasing rental costs are now also an issue and we will no longer be booking holiday cottages in the UK.
Melanie
Lovely cosy cottage. Beautifully decorated throughout. The car parking pass was great for travelling around and we had fabulous visits to Alnwick and Holy Island. The only slight things that stop it being 10 out of 10 was adjusting the temperature easily in both the shower and storage heaters we werent not expecting such cold weather the wood burner helped! We would definitely recommend the property Thanks
Such a lovely homely cottage, great facilities , perfect location , would definitely recommend. Thankyou
Christine
Comfy, clean and cosy, the cottage was just as advertised. It was very well equipped and the parking permit was a godsend, we found the access to the allocated parking space at the rear of the cottage a bit tight to get out onto the street so used the permit to park in the nearby public car park. I would recommend unloading at the front of the property on arrival double yellow lines then pick up the parking permit and leave your car in the public car park a couple of streets away if in doubt. Thanks for the little touches such as the local books and maps and recommendations for local eateries.
This property had everything for our stay. It is so comfortable and the fire is fantastic. We had a great time thank you and we will be back. The use of the parking permits are really handy.
Lovely place to stay. Not far from the centre of things and the beach is a 15 minute stroll. 2 pubs at the bottom of the street. The property is cosy home from home with a well equipped kitchen.
We had a wonderful two weeks at Kittiwake Cottage. The cottage is in a great location where you can walk to beaches, pubs and around the corner the high street with everything you need. The lovely touches in the cottage such as the soft blankets on the chairs and cosy lighting plus extremely comfortable beds were excellent. An extra nice touch was the parking permit which was included.
Really nice cottage and great location. One suggestion would be for blackout blinds in the bedrooms.
We were delighted with cottage, cleanliness and decor. This was marred however by 13.5 tog duvets which meant we were too warm to sleep
Patricia
Had a lovely stay in the cottage, parking is definitely an issue although the parking permit compensated for this, the shower was the main issue as it had no power at all, the best was a constant dribble, not ideal if you had long thick hair! The surrounding areas were a delight and was lovely to be so close to the sea.
Stewart
The property was very clean and comfortable, and is ideally situated in Seahouses. Our only issue was the parking, we could park easily, but when the cottage next door became occupied they could not park to unload. So I pulled forward to let them in, but due to the benchplanter in front of the parking spot I could not swing my car back in. Once the people next door had offloaded their luggage, they kindly moved their car and parked it somewhere else for the rest of the week. If not, then I would not have been able to park, but this is solely due to the benchplanter, in my opinion this should be removed. Everything else was perfect, including the weather and we will definitely be returning to Northumberland. Thank you for letting us rent your beautiful cottage. Kind Regards, Stewart
Everything was good. Our only gripe is that the private parking at the rear is virtually unusable except possibly by the smallest of cars. if the 2 spaces no. 5 and no. 7 were both in use one car would be blocked in and when leaving the ginnel at the far end the corner is impossibly tight. I did a 25 point turn with the aid of the people in the end cottage and still managed to scrape the car. However we appreciated the permit you provided for the town car park which we used most of the time.
Michele
Beautiful little cottage only a 2 minute walk to the centre of Seahouses where you will find beautiful beaches bars and restaurants. The cottage is very comfortable and equipped with everything to make your stay perfect. I would highly recommend.
