The Chevy Reviews

Fabulous home from home. Cleanliness was second to none, which is a must for us. It's in an ideal position. I'm sure we'll be back. Thank You for our lovely cake and wine.
Great property in a good location. Well appointed, quiet and comfortable. Owners extremely helpful plus lovely welcome with cake, wine and superb honey. Thank you we'll be back again soon.
We had a wonderful week in Northumberland with The Chevy proving to be the perfect base. A lovely, well thought out property with everything we needed for our group which included a toddler and a dog. Ideal location, close to shops and the facilities that Seahouses offers, as well as being well placed for trips to Alnwick, Bamburgh and in our case even Edinburgh! The welcome pack was very welcome too. A big thank you from all of us.
We had a lovely stay in the Chevy we really appreciated the welcome gifts and it was well equipped and very clean. Very comfortable beds and living accommodation We were 5 adults and a dog and there was room for us all. The location was perfect with shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways a 5 minute walk away. It's ideally situated for all local attractions. We visited Bamburgh,Dunstanburgh,Lindisfarne Holy Island,Craster and Morpeth. Beautiful beaches and cafes We would definitely stay again and highly recommend
Fabulous house situated in a perfect location. House was clean with everything you needed for a week away. Its walking distance to seahouses where you find pubs, shops and chip shops. The Olde ship inn is our favourite. 2 negatives about the property. The downstairs bathroom is tiny and quite difficult to use we had our elderly parents hence and downstairs room suited and 3 out of 4 TVs are not SMART and the only one couldnt connect to internet. Again parents wanted to catch up with soaps Overall lovely place lovely surrounding and great base to visit other parts of the Northumbria coast.

We have stayed in Seahouses for many years and this accomadation matches the best of any other we have stayed in. For comfortable seating it's the best we have ever had. Normally we are struggling to all relax together 6 adults . It was very well equipped for self catering. Qhen we arrived the was a welcome package which included a lovely home made cake. Clean, warm ,comfortable. Great accomadation.
Great location for walking into seahouses and visiting other towns and villages. The property had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Property was excellent, very clean and of a very high standard, lovely home made ... Property was excellent, very clean and of a very high standard, lovely home made cake and bottle of wine to welcome us in the door, would highly recommend, nit picking here but the suite isnt the most comfortable to sit on, Ive been to the Chevy around 7 x times now and look forward to a return trip next year
Melanie
Excellent property with all the facilities you could want. The house was exceptionally clean, beds very comfortable and the upstairs shower was fantastic. The kitchen had sufficient cooking equipment etc for a family to prepare a few home meals if you decide not to eat out. The house was within walking distance of all the facilities in Seahouses and I would promote Scottys the local butcher a real gem. Local coop convenience store has all you may need but can be pricey. The walk along the beach from Seahouses to Bambrugh is stunning and we spent many hours at the local beaches. We had a lovely weeks holiday at The Chevy.
A beautiful property. Everything was immaculate. Modern and well equipped. Loved the welcome pack, cake went down well with all of us. Would definitely recommend to others. 1010
Our third stay at The Chevy. Well appointed with everything you could need. Welcome gift well received. Superb location, quiet, good proximity to shops and eateries. Well situated for trips walks to Bamburgh, Beadnell, and travel to Berwick, Newcastle, Craster, Alnwick, Amble, etc. Beautiful area and lovely people.
This was a lovely house, well equipped with everything needed. Clean throughout, comfy beds, well kept garden. Great location. We had a great stay and would recommend to others. Just be careful with the sloping ceilings in the bedrooms.
The cottage had everything that we could possibly need and was a great location. There was a lovely cake to greet us on our arrival it was my mothers' 92nd birthday so it may it really special and the downstairs bedroom with on suite bathroom was brilliant for her. We would definitely book again.

The Chevy was a really lovely and very clean & cosy house which was a perfect winter base for exploring Northumberland. The beds were really comfortable and the house was really well equipped and well set out. The location was at the bottom of an estate right opposite a school which was closed whilst we were there so very quiet. As all bedrooms face the school this may be noisy at school pick up drop off times when open. The house was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children and we really enjoyed the handy location being in walking distance to the port and shopsrestaurants etc. one of the hairdryers was broken and sparked when plugged in which was fed back and dealt with. As others have said, The living room could benefit from a new sofa for relaxing after a long day as the one currently there is very narrow, upright, old fashioned and not at all comfortable for watching the tv which is mounted on the wall. A deep corner sofa would be perfect for the space and really enhance the layout. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and the welcome Victoria sponge cake was the best wed ever tasted!
Had everything we needed. Home from home.
Absolutely nothing negative to say about The Chevy. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable and great location for walking into Seahouses and the beach and surrounding areas. Garden not enclosed but a nice private sitting out area at the side of the house. Wasn't an issue for my dog as she doesn't wander but may be a problem for other dog owners. Would definitely stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chevy. Very clean and good facilities. The treats were very welcome, especially the sponge cake. All in all we would certainly return.
Beautifully appointed house. Very well located an easy walk from shops and harbour. Only criticism is that the bathroom in the ground floor bedroom was a bit tight for a person with limited mobility. An excellent kitchen diner. A great base for both coast and heritage.
We have rented many, many holiday cottages over the years both in the UK and abroad. Chevy is among the best ones. Lovely, clean and warm house with an easy access to town as well as to the villages around Seahouses. We felt very welcomed with the cake, honey and wine. The Chevy is very well equipped apart from a tiny, tiny little thing. We would have liked to have a milk jug. The info books were impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sheilagh, Lesley and Osmo from Edinburgh
We love Northumberland and holiday here most years. The Chevy has been perfect for us, well equipped and lovely and clean. We really appreciate the welcome pack. We enjoyed lots of walking and i had a great trip to inner farnes. Seahouses is a great base to explore Northumberland. Recommend the Copper Kettle in Bamburgh dog friendly and good food. A big thank you
Joseph
Excellent property, fully equipped with everything we needed and in a lovely quiet location a short walk from the centre of Seahouses. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a base to explore the area, and would have no hesitation in booking the place again for future visits.
As other people have said, what a pleasure it is to stay in somewhere so clean and well equipped. We have stayed in many self catering places over the years and this has got to be the best. Attention to detail makes such a difference. There is nothing to pick fault with except the British weather Thanks for the wine, cake etc. Nice touch, would definitely recommend to friends holidaying in Northumberland
Horace
Very good accommodation at a high standard with all the faculties you need. Location is spot on as you can walk to all key shops and activities within 510 minutes. Great having 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms as we have two teens boy and girl the only minor point would be to have a fenced in garden for our dogthere is now back garden but one at the side and the front otherwise we would stay here again
We have just returned from our New Year break at The Chevey. Really lovely house situated a short distance from Seahouses. Exceptionally clean with all the amenities you could need for a week's stay. Plenty of cooking facilities, crockery and cutlery. The house is lovely and warm. Thankyou for the treats on arrival and Christmas decorations. We soon ate the delicious cake! Such a lovely, welcoming house. Whoever stays will not be disappointed. Highly recommend.
Loved our stay at The Chevy and will definitely be coming back. Spacious, quiet, nice strolling distance from Seahouses. Well appointed and everything provided for a perfect stay. The cake, wine and honey an added surprise thank you. Note to owner heated towel rail in main bathroom not working!
We had a lovely stay at The Chevy. It's in the newer part of Seahouses, so it's a modern house, not a traditional cottage. But what it lacks in character, it makes up for in warmth and practicality. We were lucky with the weather most of the time, dry but very cold but the house was always welcoming and seemed to be very well insulated. Seahouses is an excellent base for this part of Northumberland. You can walk north and south along the coastal path and other attractions are only short drives away. There is lots of crockery in the house, but it would have been good to have a few more cutlery sets, but only a minor issue. And finally, as others have said, the welcome pack was a lovely treat, particularly the honey. It's amazing how much 5 people can get through in a week!
We had a very comfortable week at The Chevy. Its very well equipped and has everything you need for self catering. This is our second year staying here and have booked for next year. It is in a brilliant location for walking around or visiting other towns around Northumberland. Would like to see maybe an outside clothes dryer! Thats about the only thing missing.
Trevor
Needs rotary line and pegs slightly bigger or extendable table when six people ... Needs rotary line and pegs slightly bigger or extendable table when six people are there cooking tongs wd be helpful but really well equipped and clean and comfy
We had a great stay at The Chevy. Well equipped and comfortable. A fantastic place to explore the surrounding area from.
Malcolm
Property very clean and tidy but the downstairs bedroom had a too small en suite and wardrobe space was very limited. We like to cook and would have appreciated sharper knives, the induction hob did not function properly and more chopping boards would be better. Property great for four people but not for six adults.
Had a great stay. Home from home, everything you would need!! Short walk into seahouses. Shops, restaurants and boat trips. So many places nearby to visit. Alnwick , Bamburgh Castles. National trust,Cragside. Nature reserves, sandy beaches,Holy and Lindisfarne Islands. Would love to visit again and stay at the Chevy.
Oliver
Amazing cottage in a great location. Easy walking access to shops, restaurants, gympool and beaches. It is also ideally situated to drive to other areas Bamburgh, Beadnell & Alnwick etc.. Would highly recommend!
garet Anne
Superb holiday accommodation. The owners have thought of everything. Spotless and comfortable in ideal location. We will return next year if not before
Thank you for a great new year at the Chevy! A beautiful house providing us with everything we could need plus more. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Hope to return sometime soon!
A lovely and relaxing autumn break in Northumberland. The Chevy provided us once again with everything we could have asked for. Many thanks
Have stayed in Seahouses on numerous occasions but nowhere as nice as this. Very comfortable, quiet and well presented. Loved the cake, honey, biscuits & wine, what a lovely welcome. Glorious weather just made for a perfect week. Hope to be back soon.
Perfect house in an excellent location in Seahouses. Thank you so much, as everything was so well set up for us, and the welcoming items of food and wine added a very special touch. We would most definitely stay here again. Thank you so much.
