Decent sized, comfortable accommodation in a great location with garage parking. The welcome pack was excellent. On the down side the property was pretty tired and not particularly clean, especially the carpets and oven. The occupants of the Little Boathouse below commented that they could hear us moving about in the bedrooms and bathroom of our accommodation. We then received a very odd note documenting when we went to bed and the number of times we went to the toilet over the course of one night. I spoke to them and they agreed that we werent being noisy but they could hear us moving about due to the lack of sound proofing between the properties. We became very conscious about moving about in the flat. This lack of sound proofing has been noted in previous reviews for both properties.

This was a delightful property in a wonderful location. The facilities were excellent and the property owner was very helpful. Highly recommended!

Poor beds left early

The Boathouse was very clean and bright, nicely decorated and comfortable. It has a nice view of the harbour and the Farne Islands in the distance. It is within walking distance of all the amenities in Seahouses. We wish we had booked for longer than the three nights we stayed. It was a bonus having a garage to park the car in.

Accommodation was clean and comfortable, in a great location with easy access to local amenities, with excellent places to eat and drink. Garage for parking with laundry facilities. An excellent place to stay.

Fantastic apartment! The location couldnt be better and the neighbours were really friendly. The space is immaculately clean and the linen supplied was excellent. The view from the window is great and we loved the shower and use of washing machine and dryer. The main bed is very creaky and we were a bit self conscious as the neighbours below are often in the living room which is below the main bedroom. A couple of maintenance improvements but might just be because we went at the end of the season. Overall a great place to stay to visit seahouses and surrounding areas.

This large apartment is in a good location in Seahouses. Mostly well equipped, but no cafetire for coffee. Also no tablets for the dishwasher. The description of sea views is slightly deceptive, I think sea glimpses more apt as the accommodation is a row back from the harbour. It is well placed for access to the local pubs and eateries very good and boat trips to the Farne Islands and Holy Island. We enjoyed walking straight from the apartment and listening to the birds.

This cottage is in a great location and is cosy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The private garage was great. The only thing that lets if down is the bathroom which is tired and in need of an upgrade. The shower in particular. We enjoyed our week here with our little dog.

The Boathouse was very comfortable and in a good location. We have stayed several times. Its has been improved the TV was new and very good , cleanliness was good. Only problem was with the shower which needs attention the pressure was very low and appears to be leaking from the shower unit. The window in the lounge which has a good view of the harbour could be enhanced by replacing some of the panes as the seals are not good and spoils the view. The welcome pack is good and appreciated. Overall a good holiday

Fantastic location. The integral garage gives you piece of mind off road parking and access into the house. The house is tidy and compact. There was only two of us so perhaps could get a little tight if full occupancy is taken. There was an issue with an appliance in the kitchen which the home owners attended to immediately and did a temporary fix. The bathroom is tired. The shower was used once but not again. The bath panel and shower screen need a deep clean or replacing and the shaver point is broken. There is a shower in the garage but the adjoining property also have access to it. Admittedly the owners did look at the bathroom at the same time they came to look at the issue in the kitchen and agreed that it needed some attention. We would definitely stay here again as long as the above is rectified and perhaps the window pane looking over the harbour could be changed to make the view perfect. Thank you again to the owners for their expeditious attention and friendliness.

Tuesday evening we returned to the cottage to find that someone had been in the property to do maintenance in the bathroom leaving the old parts in the bathroom bin over hanging out of it and we came back to a puddle of water around the toilet due to it now leaking from behind the main input pipe. Upon speaking to the lady who owns the property she couldnt have been kinder and apologised as we was meant to receive notice from Sykes Cottages informing us of this maintenance happening. She had organised for the plumber to return the next day to fix the leaking pipe which was completed by the time we returned to the cottage again the following day after our day out. The only other maintenance note to make was that a couple of the heaters around the property would not work for whatever reason despite setting them up exactly the same as the ones that we found were working. Obviously this time of year it wasnt a massive issue as it was mild but we did have a few chilly mornings and evenings that needed just a little upping of the temperature. The owner is aware of this also. Everything else within the property was absolutely fine and would certainly book the cottage again if available when looking. Perfect location to the harbour and views out towards Bamburgh.

Beautiful holiday home with great views of the sea. It was very comfortable to stay in, sofa and beds were a dream and rare find from past experiences. We had a power cut which was a problem outside. The owner was great and kept us up to date with what was happening. The problem was resolved very quickly. It was a great base to visit Bamburgh, Beadnell Berwick and Alnwick. A bonus to this accommodation was a washing machine and dryer which was brilliant with young kids. The garage also for off road parking was perfect. It is great walking distance to the shops and pubs.

We are regular visitors to Seahouses and have used different properties. We've stayed at the Boathouse on two previous occasions, albeit a few years ago. We find it very comfortable and like the location. Also, on balance good value for the price. There have been some improvements since our last stay, particularly in the bedrooms. A negative point before but much better now. My only disappointment with the place is the shower. Please upgrade! All in all a nice break in a pleasant cottage. We will definitely book again next year. Hopefully the building over the road will have been finished. Noise and parking a nuisance.

This was our third visit to the property, the Boathouse is a good location clean and spacious. Unfortunately there was renovation work on the property opposite which I appreciate is beyond the control of the owners it made it very difficult using the garage due to scaffolding and parked vehicles and parking in Seahouses is not easy. The washing machine in the garage was faulty only tried using it once to freshen up towels Still quite an enjoyable stay

The overall accommodation was reasonably tidy and clean, but the one overriding issue was the smell that emanates from the ground floor off road garage which is directly below the first floor living room. The smell of oil and fumes from the garage permeates into the living space. Its easy to place the smell and there was even a hand written note asking anyone using the off road parking to not leave their engine running for too long as fumes can get upstairs. However, the smell isnt exhaust fumes so much as a working garage smell, the old oil smells heavy in the air and I would hope that a deep clean of the garage would help. Its not the kind of thing you want from a holiday rental.

Excellent location and enjoyed view to harbour and sea from the settee. Bright and warm cottage. Beds and settee and armchair were really comfortable which is not always the case with holiday lets. Bathroom could do with updating. Appreciated having parking space in garage. Bit tight though for a large car and shared access to washing machinedryer with next door.

We love coming back to Seahouses to The Boathouse. The house is so comfortable with such useful space in the garageformer boathouse. It is in the centre of everything, minimising needing to take the car out, with easy access to coastal walks, shops and cycling. Treated ourselves to a spa afternoon at the Ocean Club and meal at Insieme for a special birthday celebration this time but usually cook with well supplied kitchen and fresh seafood. Thank you!

This is our fourth stay at The Boathouse and we were disappointed this time. Mainly due to the number of things that didnt work and especially as most issues had been reported by us at the end of our stay a year ago when we stayed there last time in April 2022 and nothing had been fixed sorted! The following things need fixing replacing toaster only right hand side works, heater on landing doesnt work, heater in lounge by telephone doesnt work, socket for tumble drier doesnt work, 4 broken hooks in fish bedroom, 3 broken hooks in white bedroom, kitchen sink plug chain broken, basin plug hole in bathroom grotty, bath panel broken and just taped up. The cost for us to stay at the same time next year is absolutely eye watering and considering we already paid nearly 200 more than our stay last Easter we wont be paying another 200 to stay next year! This takes the cost to double what we paid on our first visit 5 years ago. It isnt worth over a 1000 to stay for a week. Please sort out the maintenance issues to help future guests, we wont be staying again.

The Boathouse is a wonderful place to stay , beautifully clean and equipped in a wonderful village of Seahouses , which had all the facilities that we were looking for holiday as a family. The only thing which marred our stay was the fact that SYKES confirmed before arriving that we could have an extra travel cot, which did not arrive for 2 days , meaning that our 6 month baby had to sleep in a suitcase for 2 nights !! Thanks to all of those who helped remedy this situation eventually. Looking forward to booking again for a lovely family break.

Had a great few days, great base to explore Northumberland. Kids enjoyed watching the boats in the morning and great to have a sea view. Welcome pack really appreciated.

The property is compact and little quirky but has a very good location just off the main Crewe road. Everything in walking distance and only yards away from panoramic views over the harbour and the Farne islands. No issues with parking as you have a garage.

A delightful three bedroom cottage, not large but light and airy and a pleasure to visit for a week.

The property was everything we needed for our stay at Seahouses. It was a clean, well equipped home from home with a quirky layout. The upstairs was great plenty of space and cosy.
