Herringbone Cottage Reviews

Belinda
Great location to explore the area. clean but there was a stain on the carpet outside the kitchen and floor edging looked dirty but just needs a paint. The cottage was great but the extractor fan in downstairs bathroom really needs replacing. It was so noisy it really disturbed us, and we note it had been mentioned before. The only other thing was that the kitchen needed a few extra serving bowls, a decent tin opener and a larger frying pan. It was a lovely place to relax in, but we hope the feedback is taken on board.
Lovely cottage with all the amenities you need plus extras teabag, coffee biscuits washing up liquid and cloths etc. Really well placed for both harbour and town. However there were a few concerns that need addressing. It was really quite grubby in places very dirty rug in lounge and hall, large stain on carpet outside kitchen door, shelf where mugs were stored was dirty it can't have been wiped down for ages, light in bed room flickering, extractor in bathroom really really loud and sounded like it was going to give up the ghost and finally and most disturbing was that the cloakroom upstairs reeked and if you opened the door it made the whole of the upstairs reek so that was out of bounds. We've used sykes several times and never had to make negative comments so I think these issues need addressing quickly.
2nd visit to the property, felt this time the place was a little tired! Bathroom was particularly shabby and the extractor fan was in need of replacementservicing.

A delightful location in the heart of the town and a short walk to all the towns facilities. A couple of points that need considering, the velux windows in the kitchenliving room need blinds fitting, it was in the mid 20's the week we stayed, and the upstairs livingcooking area was like a greenhouse, the heat was unbearable, thank god the downstairs bedrooms were cooler. A larger frying panwok would be ideal as trying to do a quick stirfry in the tiny frying pan wasn't ideal. Our first time in Northumberland and Seahouses is the perfect location for long hikes along the beaches.

A really lovely cottage which looked even better in real life than in the pictures, we really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent, close walking distance to the seafront and local shops and restaurants. Comfy beds, great facilities, free parking on the road outside, and nice little touches like providing dishwasher tablets, tea bags and biscuits. I would definitely stay here again. A couple of little notes for the property owner though the oven needs cleaning, when we tried to use it we immediately set off the smoke alarms so reverted to using the hob instead. Also, the notes ask that guests put rubbish in the dustbins in the garage, but does not include any info on how to get into the garage! We searched all over for a key and called the customer service number to ask and were told that someone would get back to us but no one did. By sheer fluke one of the kids was nosing in cupboards while we were loading up the car to leave and found the garage key so we were able to put our rubbish away as requested, but we had missed the local rubbish collection by then. I think these instructions need to be clearer or the key more visible. Both small issues though and wouldn't stop me staying again or recommending to others.
Had a enjoyable stay at this lovely cottage. Loved the layout of the bedrooms on the lower floor and the large lounge and kitchen on the upper floor. Will definitely book to stay again even though parking is difficult.

Wow . Had a wonderful stay. The cottage exceeded our expectations, everything you could need during the stay was there. A beautiful cottage and it's location was perfect. Looking forward to returning.

Lovely cottage in a very convenient location, handy for exploring the area on foot & by public transport.
I love staying here and will return every time. The cottage was much cleaner than my last stay as this was the beginning of the season. Just wanted to let you know the main bedroom quilt cover although had been cleaned had big paw prints all over it where someone has let their dog on the bed and its not washed out. I didnt want you to think it was me as I left my dog at home, and this may put people off. Id definitely have a strict policy of no dogs on beds as I know what people are like. Its the striped quilt cover so you may want your cleaners to check it over before they put it back on as the muddy paws may not wash out. I will return later this year thank you ! Jo
A fabulous cottage in a super location. We will definitely stay again
The cottage is well styled but poorly maintained. Door handles loose. Bathroom ligh over sink not working. Dammage to plasterwork. Paintwork throughout Cleanliness is a major problem. Inside cupboards, skirting boards. Carpets throughout need deep cleaning Facilities ok. Lacks a bowl for cooking. Fry pan needs replacing. Dining table in living room a waste as you have kitchen table. Would be better suited to another sofa.
We had a wonderful week in this well appointed cottage but unfortunately there were a few issues. The sink in the downstairs bathroom would not release so I was forced to wash upstairs because I am due a new hip next week I could not use the shower over the bath when I booked the holiday my hip was more manageable so I didn't this would be a problem. The upstairs sink had a plug that would not seal so I had to manage under running water until I could call maintenance on Monday morning. Both problems were cleared up whilst we were out on Monday. I also reported that the toaster did not heat up correctly but this was not fixed, so no toast all week. On Tuesday mu husband needed to charge his razor but the razor socket in bathroom does not work, I didn't report this as fortunately we had taken an adaptor plug with us. Everything else was great, I especially like the ease that the radient hob works. All in all, a very convenient location to explore the area and we spent a very happy week in Northumbria.
Cottage was lovely location was great everything a short walk away definitely go back again
Lovely cottage very well equipped but the door handles were a bit loose.
The cottage is stunning. So clean, stylish and equipped with everything you could need. We had cosy nights in in front of the beautiful log stove which were a highlight for us. We can&rsquot wait to return to Herringbone Cottage!
Everything you&39d need was there in the cottage which was ideally located in the village of Seahouses. The cottage was comfortably welcoming after a day walking, a very clean and spacious place to stay. Ideal for small families and couples.
Beautiful, well presented property set in a central location. Would highly recommend this property.
